Yep, I don't get the whole, "it's been done before in such-and-such, why change..blah, effing-blah blah blah."
Not really surprising that some people find it useful and others are being so hostile -- the old, mine's bigger than your's seems prevalent. I suppose considerations like making the user interaction more transparent and seamless are just *plain bad*.
