Not A Poker Player


I realize that some of you out there are, but I have to say I have been forever turned off from the game by my friendly neighborhood comment spammer, who thinks that posting goddamned “texas holdem” 200 times in my comments is a good idea.

When I first saw those comments half a year ago, I thought 'texas holdem' was a fake name that the spammer used... Despite having hosted gazillions of these 'comments' on my site, I don't even know exactly what those words mean.

It's a very popular poker variant, apparently -- so popular, unbelievably, that there are actually televised poker tournaments featuring it now. It makes televised golf seem like gladitorial conflict.
